To celebrate Valentine's this week, our class made heart baskets to contain any Valentines we receive during our party. It was a not-too-easy task to weave the paper loops into functional containers, but we did it. Someone discovered that the baskets made awesome-looking hats, so, of course, we all had to try it. On Valentine's Day, we partnered up and did a hands-on activity which involved sorting, tabulating then figuring out fractions and their simplest forms. We used Sweet Tart candy hearts! The last thing Mr. N told us to do is divide all our candy by two (to share them.). Candy in math class! Cool!!
